The role

Antler is seeking an exceptional leader to join the firm as an Associate Partner in Sydney to lead our investment activities in Sydney and to join our global partnership to help build Antler. This role has the opportunity to have an incredible impact on the early-stage ecosystem in Sydney, and be a part of building the next wave of fast-growing technology companies in Australia. 

This is a unique opportunity to break into VC leadership and back the best outliers in Australia. 

About the role

In brief

• 11 employees across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane
• You will be an Associate Partner, reporting to one of our General Partners
• Based in Sydney, you will lead Antler’s investment origination across Sydney and New South Wales to back and support outlier founders at the earliest stage
• You will be the primary leader for our Residency founders in Sydney
• You will play a key role in developing and delivering our portfolio strategy to achieve significant success and will drive post-investment outcomes as lead for selected portfolio companies
• You will make investment decisions as a voter on our Investment Committee and be a part of Antler’s global partnership group, with material fund carry exposure

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in a Tier 1 VC-backed start-up or a VC firm or as a founder who has raised VC
• Demonstrated elite achievement in education, sports or career
• Strong technical and AI depth: respected in conversations on product, engineering, and technology
• A genuinely active network of Tier 1 founders, investors, and operators across Australia
• Demonstrated understanding of how capital is raised and deployed
• Build a culture of team, ambition, enthusiasm and action bias
• A clear communicator able to deliver tough messages with empathy
• Sydney based

Preferred but not essential:

• Early stage investment experience
• Former founder
