The role & responsibilities

As the most active investor in AI globally, we believe it’s essential to lead by example. This role exists to help us push the frontier of how AI can be applied within a venture capital firm, automating internal processes, streamlining decision-making, and enhancing the way we identify and support exceptional founders.

In brief

This role reports to the Partners, sitting in the Scouting and Investments functions

• Based in Melbourne or Sydney
• Lead the AI strategy and implementation across the operations of the Australia fund, with input to Antler global Tech and Marketing teams
• Identify generational businesses and outlier founders for the next wave of AI investments - with input and a front-row seat on investment decisions
• Be a builder - design, prototype and implement AI-powered workflows, agents and internal tools
• Identify and guide founders who are building with or enabled by AI to back the very best
• Shape how Antler Australia uses and teaches frontier AI capabilities, setting the gold standard for operational excellence and AI enablement

Invest in the best AI founders in Australia and help them build generational companies

• Source the best inception stage founders in Australia and encourage them to build with Antler
• Contribute a strong voice to investment decisions and attend Investment Committees to have a seat at the table

• Agentify Antler’s internal processes and tooling
  • Identify high-impact areas across our operations that can be automated or enhanced through AI agents and workflows (e.g. scouting, investment due diligence, portfolio support)
  • Build and maintain AI-based tools and agentic workflows that improve operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with global Tech and Marketing teams (based in Australia) to influence global roadmap and embed best practices

• Be a thought leader in AI-first startup creation and actively engage in the Australian founder and AI ecosystems
  • Curate and lead educational content (workshops, templates, walkthroughs) on building with LLMs, synthetic data, and verticalised AI solutions
  • Guide founders through how to leverage AI in their startup ideas—across GTM, product design, automation, and strategy

Requirements

• 3–5 years experience in a startup or VC-backed company, ideally with exposure to AI products in a Product, Growth or Operations role
• Hands-on experience building or using AI agents, automation workflows (e.g. Zapier, Gumloop), or AI dev tools (e.g. n8n, v0, Lovable)
• Demonstrated understanding of AI application areas like productivity agents, custom GPTs, or workflow orchestration
• Passion for founder journeys - with a strong network within AI builder, product, or developer communities 
• High agency, initiative and curiosity. You can identify bottlenecks, prototype solutions, and drive change independently
• Based in Melbourne or Sydney, with occasional interstate travel
• Track record of advising or evaluating early-stage founders
• Knowledge of VC
• Entrepreneurial experience as a founder
