About Antler

Antler is where founders come to go further, faster.

Antler is the world’s most active early-stage investor, backing exceptional people at the very start of their journey — and supporting them from inception to scale. Across 27 cities worldwide—including New York, San Francisco, London, Berlin, Bangalore, Singapore, Seoul, and Sydney—the firm helps founders remove the barriers to building by connecting them with world-class peers, validating business models, and providing initial capital. For founders who go on to build breakout companies, Antler Elevate—the firm’s flagship, emerging growth fund—invests beyond the early stages.

To date, Antler has backed more than 1,900 startups globally across a wide range of industries and technologies with the goal of backing more than 6,400 by 2030. Antler runs a highly structured and thorough due diligence process to assess early-stage opportunities at scale. Through Antler’s structured investment approach, Antler gains a deep understanding of their strengths, scale of ambition, grit, and passion. A global network of advisors and domain experts helps further validate their business models, giving unique insights into founders’ potential.

Antler is backed by institutional investors, including asset managers, life insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, wealth managers, alongside unicorn founders and family offices. The board is co-chaired by Sheila Patel, former Chairman of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, and Tore Myrholt, former EMEA Chair of McKinsey, and the advisory board includes James Anderson, Chairman of Kinnevik and former co-manager of the Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust at Baillie Gifford; Peter Harrison, former CEO of Schroders; Ken Hitchner, former Chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs APAC; Nancy Zimmerman, Co-founder and Managing Partner of Bracebridge Capital; David Fischer, former Chief Revenue Officer at Facebook; Todd Ruppert, former CEO of T. Rowe Price Intl and former Y Combinator Partner and serial entrepreneur Aaron Harris.

North America is a critical growth market for Antler, both as a source of world-class founders and as a key LP fundraising geography. The firm is now investing meaningfully in its North American capital formation capabilities to match the scale of its global ambition.

The Role

This is a foundational hire and pivotal moment for Antler in North America.

We are looking for a Head of Capital Formation to own and scale fundraising across the region - leading institutional capital raising while helping shape the next phase of Antler’s platform. This is not a stewardship role; it is a build role.

You will lead fundraising across institutional LPs, family offices, and strategic investors, driving commitments into Antler’s global fund platform. At its core, this is a senior sales leadership position - combining relationship depth, execution intensity, and meaningful strategic ownership.

You will be Antler’s most senior capital markets leader in North America, partnering directly with our global Managing Partners to set and execute regional fundraising strategy, open new investor channels, and convert momentum into closed capital.

This role will suit someone coming from a senior capital formation or distribution background within asset management who is excited to trade infrastructure for impact. You won’t inherit a large team, a polished machine, or layers of support - you will help build them. Expect to be deeply in the work: originating, pitching, travelling lean, and closing.

You will build and lead a small, high-performing capital team, setting the tone for a culture defined by ownership, rigour, performance and accountability.

The right candidate brings:

  • an established North American institutional LP network
  • a track record of closing complex fund commitments
  • and the entrepreneurial mindset to operate at senior level without corporate scaffolding

Key Responsibilities

1.  Capital Raising & Origination (Core Sales Function)

  • Lead and deliver against North America fundraising targets across Antler's fund suite, including flagship regional and global vehicles, thematic strategies, and co-investment opportunities.
  • Manage the full fundraising cycle from prospecting and origination through qualification, pitching, due diligence management, and close.
  • Build and maintain a high-quality, well-segmented pipeline of institutional investors, endowments, foundations, pension funds, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, and strategic corporates suited to Antler's fund products.
  • Lead term negotiation and closing processes, including side letters, subscription documentation, and partnership structuring where required.
  • Establish and convert strategic LP partnerships that expand Antler's footprint and distribution capabilities in the region.
  • Provide a clear, data-driven view of the NA fundraising pipeline, reporting regularly to global Capital Team leadership on progress, risks, and opportunities.

2.   Investor Relations & External Representation

  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for North American LPs across the full investor lifecycle — from prospecting through ongoing stewardship.
  • Maintain consistent, high-quality engagement, ensuring Antler remains top-of-mind and investors are well-informed on fund performance, portfolio developments, and strategic direction.
  • Represent Antler externally at investor meetings, industry forums, conferences, panels, and other targeted events, acting as a credible and authoritative voice on early-stage venture, emerging managers, and private markets.
  • Expand Antler’s reach by building and leveraging a network of advisors, gatekeepers, consultants, and other capital market intermediaries.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Antler’s mission, investment thesis, and portfolio — translating complex strategies into clear, differentiated narratives that engage prospective LPs.

3.  Team Leadership & Management

  • Build, lead and develop a team of 3+ Capital professionals in North America, setting clear targets, priorities, and performance standards.
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative team culture aligned with Antler's global values and the professionalism expected of a world-class capital markets function.
  • Actively coach and mentor team members, supporting career development and technical skill-building in fundraising, LP relations, and deal structuring.
  • Allocate coverage responsibilities and manage team workflow to ensure the LP pipeline is efficiently worked, and no relationship falls through the cracks.
  • Work collaboratively with global Capital Team colleagues to share intelligence, align on messaging, and contribute to a One-Antler approach to fundraising.
  • Balance strategic oversight with active participation in day-to-day fundraising execution.

4.  Product Strategy & Market Insight

  • Partner with global Managing Partners and the Capital Team to influence design and positioning of fund products that resonate with North American LPs and enable Antler to continue to scale.
  • Translate LP feedback into actionable input for fund design, structuring, and commercial strategy.
  • Support the development of compelling pitch materials, fund documentation, data rooms, and LP due diligence responses in collaboration with the IR, Legal, and Finance teams.
  • Identify opportunities for new partnerships, structures, or distribution channels that support Antler’s broader commercial strategy and long-term growth.

5.  Investor Relations Platform & Infrastructure

  • Influence Antler’s capital formation infrastructure, including the adoption of pipeline management and CRM tools, and reporting discipline.
  • Introduce best practices from institutional asset management environments while adapting them to a fast-growing global platform.
  • Partner cross-functionally to strengthen systems, processes, and operational scalability as fundraising activity expands.

Candidate Profile

Background & Experience

We expect candidates to come from a senior capital formation, distribution, or fundraising leadership role within institutional asset management, private markets, or alternatives investing.

Your background will include:

  • Significant experience raising institutional capital across North America, ideally spanning venture capital, private equity, growth equity, or a global multi-asset platform.
  • A demonstrated history of originating and closing fund commitments directly with institutional LPs and sophisticated family offices.
  • Deep, active relationships across the North American allocator ecosystem, including pensions, endowments, foundations, consultants, fund-of-funds, family offices, and strategic investors.
  • Experience leading or building capital formation teams and operating as a senior representative of your firm in the market.
  • Familiarity with venture or early-stage investing structures is helpful. Experience in closed-end blind pool vehicles, co-investment structures, and evergreen or open-ended products, is also a strong advantage.

Skills & Capabilities - What you’ll bring

This role requires strong commercial and execution capability. You will demonstrate:

  • Credibility and presence with sophisticated institutional investors, combined with a highly commercial mindset.
  • Strong commercial instinct and fundraising judgement — able to listen to LP needs, adapt product narratives, and manage objections with nuance and conviction.
  • Fluency with fund performance analysis, portfolio construction discussions, and institutional due diligence expectations.
  • A leadership style that develops strong teams while maintaining personal accountability for outcomes.
  • Able to operate autonomously in a busy, high-velocity environment — you’ll be organised and able to personally manage relationships, processes, and priorities from first meeting through close.

Operating Style & Personal Attributes

Antler combines institutional capital formation with a builder mindset. The individuals who succeed here have:

  • An entrepreneurial mindset — comfortable operating in a fast-growing, globally distributed organisation where priorities evolve and opportunities emerge quickly.
  • Strong personal ownership — self-directed, proactive, and accountable for outcomes, with the ability to move work forward without extensive structure or oversight.
  • A collaborative instinct — sharing market intelligence openly, working across regions, and contributing to a genuinely global capital formation effort rather than operating in silos.
  • Intellectual curiosity about venture and innovation — genuine interest in early-stage investing, founders, and emerging technology ecosystems.
  • Pragmatism and adaptability — equally comfortable representing Antler in a CIO meeting or rolling up sleeves to progress a process internally.

Location: Based in, or willing to relocate to, a major North American financial centre (New York preferred), with flexibility for frequent regional and international travel.

Why Antler

Antler offers a rare combination: the reach and operational infrastructure of a global firm with the culture and energy of a founder-led business. This role represents a genuine opportunity to shape the North American capital formation function at a pivotal moment in the firm's growth trajectory.

What makes Antler compelling:

  • A genuine platform-building opportunity. You will shape Antler’s North American capital formation effort from an early stage, with direct influence on strategy, product positioning, and investor outcomes.
  • Institutional ambition with entrepreneurial pace. Antler combines global scale and sophisticated LP access with a lean operating model that rewards ownership, speed, and initiative.
  • A differentiated investment story. Antler backs exceptional founders at inception, creating exposure to the earliest point in the company lifecycle and offering LPs access to a distinctive, globally scaled venture platform.
  • Breadth of opportunity in a global team. Multiple fund vehicles and geographies create depth in the conversation with investors and a platform that can evolve with market demand.
  • High autonomy, high visibility. You will work closely with global leadership and have meaningful influence over how Antler presents itself to the market and raises capital in North America.
  • A mission with substance. Every commitment raised helps back the next generation of companies, founders, and technologies — with tangible impact beyond financial returns.
