The Role
The Finance Associate at Antler will support the financial operations of the firm, including budgeting, forecasting, and portfolio performance tracking. They will assist with fund accounting, investor reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal controls. The role involves close collaboration with our Finance Consultants and Operations teams to maintain accurate financial records and support decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a VC or startup environment. They should be proactive, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic setting. This position offers an opportunity to gain deep exposure to venture capital and early-stage startups across global markets. The individual will also be expected to take on additional responsibilities (for example, Operations, Marketing, Program Management) as required.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Partners and Finance Consultants in closing the monthly financial statements
- Review of all payments to vendors and address any queries related to payments
- Assist in preparing cash flow projections of the Investment Manager and the Africa Fund
- Coordinate with our legal partners in closing the legal due diligence and documentation for new and follow-on investments
- Review and filing of applications where necessary to regulators for approval to make investments.
- Considering the small team size, support the team on the Residency Program and take on additional responsbilities as required.
Qualifications
- Candidate should be a qualified CA with a minimum of 3 years experience in the area of accounting, corporate finance, tax, regulatory
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel would be an added advantage
- Experience in a PE/VC environment would be an added advantage.
