The role

This is a unique opportunity to break into VC and gain exposure to early-stage founders and startups in Australia. It’s a rare chance to build your network, sharpen your understanding as to what makes a great founder, and fast-track your career as an investor.

Alongside our high-performing team, you will:

  • Find the best founders in the country who are at the idea and pre-revenue stage
  • Bring them into Antler’s Residency
  • Be part of the investment process 
  • Provide post-investment with support, connections and structure

Responsibilities

Scouting and Scouting Operations (70-80%) 

  • Help find the best founders in Australia via content, direct outreach and events
  • Assess founders through applications and interviews (You will need to have a personal passion for entrepreneurism and founder success)
  • Proactively build relationships across key founder communities and online channels
  • Build your brand presence in the Melbourne/Victorian ecosystem

Investments and Residency (20-30%)

  • Advise founders during the Residency and assess their investability
  • Support Investment Committee operations and memo preparation 
  • Maintain internal systems to track pipeline performance and decision processes
  • Deliver Antler’s residency content in-person and provide founder support

About you

  • 1-2 years experience in GTM/Sales, ideally in a startup or as a founder
  • Plugged into the Melbourne tech/startup community with an active network
  • A confident people person with the curiosity to uncover the best founders in Australia
  • Highly organised, proactive and comfortable with ambiguity; able to structure and execute multiple processes simultaneously
  • Based in Melbourne (hybrid: 4 days per week in office, one from home)

Not essential, but nice to have:

  • Demonstrable passion for VC and working with founders
  • Hands-on experience building or using AI agents, automation workflows, or AI dev tools
